Fun but dead

I went there while on vacation in key west. It was a Saturday Night. The show was definitely great and a lot of fun however the place was not busy. They charge 15 dollars for a cover which is a bit much considering no one was there. If its slow they should lessen the cover between five and ten bucks until the place is packed then up it. In my opinion that's just common sense in the bar business. I saw a lot of people turned away by the cover. It would've been more fun if it was busier and there were more people.

Pricey!

It cost us $15 to get in each, although I know this is a tourism spot, 801 bourbon didn't charge as much for shows! This was high and we go to NYC often so I will still say overpriced! The vibe was cool and the drag show was really good, especially Jessica! I disagree with some sites saying Key West is the best drag south of NYC! The drinks were weak and pricey as well! Most of the audience were straight travelers, families, and brides to be, no boys!!

We had a blast. We went as a group of 2 guys and 6 girls and had a fantastic time. Will do this again, next June!

great atmosphere, wonderful decor, and generous drinks......went for my sister's birthday last year and we had a blast....will be going with my parents this year on our vacation together.

I love a great drag show, but if I wanted to hang out in a straight bar, I'd have my pick of better places. The place was packed with straight girls, ONLY straight girls, sipping cocktails and staring open-mouthed at the queens... We moved on after a couple of nice tries by the queens. Why stare at women when there are hot men next-door at Kwest?

A Must!!!!

Love Aqua primarily for the best Drag Show in KW. INGA rules!!!! Usually a mixed crowd during the shows but EVERYONE is having a good time, however, no matter how hard the Girls try to keep everyone on the dance floor after the show, it pretty much quiets down.

Drag and Dance

We went to Aqua to watch a Drag Show. It was pretty good and the crowd was very mixed Straight/Gay. My main complaint with this bar is it was full of smoke. There was no ventilation and between the cigarette smoke and the smoke for the dance floor it was hard to breathe. It was a nice place to dance but not a favorite.

The best drag show!

Was there on a Friday night and it was the best drag show i have ever seen! Very professional! After the show they open the dancefloor up and thats when it dies! Great ligjt show but terrible DJ. Had know idea what he was doing. For such a great dancefloor i was really disappointed. The staff however was the best!

Just got back from Key West and went to Aqua three seperate nights..Kudos to them for doing something for the earthquake victims in Haiti. Key West is a small island and they realize that it could have been them as well. I actually met the owner (Jill) and she donated her condo up in the panhandle at the silent auction to help support the cause. Everyone was extremly friendly and the drag show is better than 801 Bourbon St. My only complaint is that they don't advertise a cover charge anywhere and each night I was there (depending on who the person was out front) the cover was different. It was pretty frustrating. One night when I was told it was 15.00, I walked away and the guy came running after me and said that he just spoke to the owner and that I could get in free tonight...Good thing he did this because I dropped about 50.00 or so on drinks. I actually sat near the door and watched while some poeple paid a cover and some people that walked away were told they could get in for free. I wound up not having to pay a cover and had an AWESOME time. Just tell them to ask for the owner (Jill) and she will most likely let you in. Have Fun

Boring!

Maybe I just hit a bad Saturday or something but it was dead. I hate bad or non-caring service and this place seemed to excel at both. I realize that when a place is dead the staff isn't happy as the tips aren't rolling in. One would think that the bartenders would try and engage the few patrons they have in conversation in order to keep them there and generate larger tips but these boys don't subscribe to this school of thought. Drinks expensive, cover of $5.00 for what? Don't bother unless its busy and you don't have to deal with the staff.

You must go and see Inga and the girls. Great drag shows, a little too smoky for non-smokers like me but its a fun place. They have the best t-shirts. Jill, Sandy and all the staff at Aqua Rock Key West .

The $12 cover is worth every penny. My sister and I were only in KW for four nights and spent two of the four at Aqua because we had so much fun the first night! Felt like I was at a huge musical production. Staff is super nice and dancing after the show was very fun!

I am pleased to say I've been an Aqua patron since they first opened their doors three years ago. I vacation in KW 6 weeks a year, and spend many of my evenings with my friends & family at Aqua. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They make regular customers and newcomers feel right at home. The drag shows are hysterical. There is a perfect balance of campy comedy and genuine talent that will leave you wanting more. And stick around after the show. The club stays open for dancing with KW's hottest DJ - Nathan D. Don't miss "Dueling Bartenders", Monday's at 5:30pm. So much fun, your face will hurt from smiling so much. Jill & Sandy, you have a great place, great performers & staff, and thanks to you and Aqua, I have many more great friends. See you soon.
