Been to this bar many times on my visits to KW. I admit I miss the old backroom, but the cage area they have now can be fun, not to mention the patio. Great anon hookups are so hot. Def can't wait to check it again on my next visit, this was the only bar in KW that I found the sleaze I like

This place is what Key West used to be.......... In the "new" Key West there are a lot of gay pride flags, a lot of gay friendly places. What's missing is a place where gay men can just hang out with other gay men and relax. It's a side effect of how open Key West is. Because no one, well almost no one, cares if you are gay and you can go to any club on the Island the straights want to come to the gay bars and enjoy themselves. For example I just spent a week in KW and every bar I went to but one was freaking total overrun with straight women.......someone even thought it was a good idea to have a batchlorrette party at a gay club featuring gay dancers because they where so "hot". Now I'm glad that things are so cool that straight women are descending on the gay clubs........okay thats a lie. Please come have a drink at the bar, catch a drag show, but please don't take over the damn bar. Enter Saloon One, a cut back to the older side of key west, it's a bit retro and in desperate need of a remodel. True there are the cruisers and it's not uncommon to find someone having a bit of fun on the pouch. But you will also find men who really want to spend some time with other gay men, most just want to drink a drink and have a laugh with other gay men. So when in key west please please vist Saloon One, have a few drinks and help keep this last little bit of the old Key West alive if for no other reason than we need a place for us.

A Huge Disappointment

Previous visits to this bar always promised a good crowd and a good time. Things have definitely changed! The place is basically empty except for Friday and Saturday nights (from my recent stay in February). Tried in on Friday night whne they were having contests for the best body parts and thought that would help kick in the crwod. Not really, unfortunately. There were more people there, but the contests were pretty lame with little participation from the people there. And, worst of all, just as things did promise to start kicking in a woman cmes wandering through with her "boyfriend" and made it a point to examine any area where any guyys were trying to have a "good time". So sad that the last bar in Key west that was men only is not naymore. Be prepared for female companionship. If that's your thing, this is the place to be!

No Longer "Men Only"

I visited Saloon One several times during February 2012. This included a Friday night where there was a contest for the “best” of various body parts among participants. This should have been fun, but was not. (Almost no one entered the contests!) This “men’s only bar” also allowed a woman in and she wandered around disrupting what could have been plenty of action. I knew she did not sneak in since the bar employees and contest MC chatted with her. I had stopped by Saloon One several previous nights after leaving other bars, but it was always very quiet. When I had been in town a few years ago, there was always a crowd at Saloon One and I had a great time every night. I guess the popularity of this bar has already peaked.

For Men Only!

I was in Key West for NYE '11 and had a BLAST at this bar. I LOVE the fact that they do not allow women. It is clearly marked that it is a MEN ONLY bar. The gay porn, back room and constant flow of cocktails made for quite a NYE. Can't wait to go back. This is one of the only Male Only bars on Duval St so the previous post should go find one of the other 247 bars and visit. Leave the Men Only places for MEN ONLY!

My wife and my friend went into this bar while vacationing in Key West over the 2010/2011 New Years holiday, and were almost immediately asked to leave. It seems that having someone in the bar with a vagina makes the Key West gays feel uncomfortable and uptight. They said my wife might offend some of the other patrons. For a minority group that pushes so hard for equal treatment this reverse discrimination is absolutely appalling.

Good bar for guys.

i went there twice on my last visit to kw. the first time must have been 2 early because things were really quiet, just watching the porno on tv. the 2nd time.... WOW! there was a lot of action in the back room... if u want hot steamy sex go late at nite.

Great little place in Key West to get your freak on. Always an odd crowd, but if you've had a few drinks you'll be trading underwear with the bartender in no time...wait...was that just me? Oh heck...at least participate in the big dick contest!

sleazy side street entrance to the leatherbar drinks are good, service is okay. hardcore porn on the tv's, and some props for your own enjoyment and participation. you may see anything, naked poolplayers, naked customers, action in the backroom or even at or under the bar. all in all its a dark, active place late at night, and especially on weekends.

Useless Place

Visited this little "hole-in-the-wall" recently (February 16, 2008). They say their a leather and levi joint...seems they don't know what that means. Guys in shorts and tennis shoes? Geeze! Also, they don't like out-of-towners...saw several get a lecture.

Sleazy little dive of a cruise bar

This is the sleaziest gay bar in Key West, without a doubt. There's handcuffs at the bar. There's paddles free to use on patrons. And there's a back room dungeon where all the action is. Clothing optional and porn on the TV screens. Not for the conservative or reserved gays.
