Humm not to clean

We use to go here or the sister house across the street. On our last trip this past April we stayed at the equator. It is right next to the coral. From our room balcony we could see the coral. No one there and the pool was greenish in color. The last time we stayed at the oasis it was going downhill. If you go when the keys are not busy don't book ahead but stop and see the place first. It was many years ago, clean, bright and fun. Sure did ot look that way in April. The equator is clean and worth the price.

Just an OK place

It was my partner and I first visit to Key West. We stayed at the Coral Tree Inn for two nights. The Property: The property itself was very nice and well kept. The property offers 3 pools (not salt water) and two hot tubs. The pools were a bit on the small side and kind of dirty with the leaves and debris. The hot tubs were just ok. We didn’t use the hot tubs. They played 80’s music constantly around the pool area. I couldn’t stay awake. I wish the music selection was more upbeat. I did enjoy the view from the sun deck. The property is in walking distance from Duval Street and other restaurant. We walked everywhere. The Room: Our room was on the ground level. I expected our room to be nicer than what it was for the price that we paid. As I walked into the room I noticed the room had a musty smell and the carpet was a bit dirty. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was nice. Because our room was on the ground level and close to the street it was very noisy. We could hear the garbage truck at 5:30 in the morning, the people walking out in the porch area and upstairs, our TV stopped working the second day we were there and the air conditioner drip water and kept both of us up all night. It was not a comfortable stay. Both of us kept comparing the Coral Tree Inn property to the Alcazar resort where we stayed at earlier in the week in Fort Lauderdale. We both wish we were back at the Alcazar. The Staff and Guests: The staff and the guests were not friendly as other had mentioned in previous post. Overall it was not a pleasant visit for us at the Coral Tree Inn resort. We had a great time in Key West. Next time we are in Key West we will definitely stay somewhere else. Favorite Key West Restaurant: Half Shell Raw Bar. Love it! :) Favorite Bar in Key West: KWest Stripper Bar

Attractive Guest House

The Key West style architecture of this guest house is very attractive. I stayed in a well-appointed room on the second floor that had a beautiful balcony facing the inside of the property. I would have given Coral Tree Inn a higher rating, but I was disappointed in the attitude of the staff. With an inn or guest house, I expect the employees to be friendly and charming, as if they were welcoming me into their home. That was not the case here, where the staff seemed bored and almost unfriendly.

Plusses and Minuses

My reaction is mixed. The facility is beautiful, rooms are clean and location is very good. We had a Thanksgiving dinner that was delicious. However, the staff has a 'don't bother me' attitude. We met the owner and he was gracious; I wonder if he knows how the staff acts in his absence? But it cannot be too bad since we have stayed here three times.
