Originally built in the early 1900s and renovated in 1981, this LGBTQ-exclusive guesthouse maintains its Old Town charm on the outside with a contemporary Key West style on the inside. In a sea of “men only” resorts, this is one of the few stays in the Gay Guesthouse District that accommodate femme-identifying travelers.
We believe that LGBTQ+ people deserve safe vacations that allow them to be their authentic selves. That's why our City Guides aren't locked behind a paywall. Can you contribute today?

Paradise in Paradise
Alexander's is the only place I stay in Key West; been going there for several years now. It's laid back relaxed atmosphere and quiet after hours is a respite from the hectic life of home. The guest crowd is mixed from young, older, singles, partnered...and yes even some straights, they're all fun and friendly. If you want fun and activity it's only a few blocks to Duval Street but after hours it's quiet at Alexander's. The staff and guests are very respectful of one's need for reading time, sleep or enjoying sun by the pool. And the staff...the staff is absolutely fabulous!! Any need or assistance, they provide at a moments notice. From suggestions on activities, dining, or making your reservations, they are absolutely superb! Cocktail hour is especially fun, with the small number of rooms (17 in all) one has a chance to meet and talk with all guests and often times make new friends to keep up with back home. I have made many friends from the mix of guests US and International as well as the Conchs. ...Love Alexander's !!
