Frangipani Gallery presents "Foliage and Flora" a show of new work by jewelry artist Jessica Wilson and acrylic painter Fran Decker. Both artists have focused on forms inspired by nature. Come meet the artists at a reception on Friday January 3rd, 6-9 PM at 1102A Duval as part of the Upper Duval Art Stroll. The show will can be seen until February 5.
Wilson works with a relatively new material from reclaimed silver, Precious Metal Clay (PMC). Although it is called clay, PMC is actually a malleable form of fine silver that Jessica sculpts and forms into her intriguing, original designs. Her latest work is inspired by jungle leaves and the smell of night air hanging heavy with the scents of flower blossoms. She incorporates fresh water pearls and semi-precious gem stones into her designs.
Fran's new paintings this year explored the flora and fauna of the Keys. Flora will be presented in January at Frangipani, and Fauna will be shown at Sodu Gallery in March. Flora is a series of paintings looking at the flowers and landscapes of the Florida Keys.
